Nanna Ditzel
Nanna Ditzel was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1923. She was trained as a cabinetmaker before she studied at the Industrial Arts and Crafts College and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. She graduated in furniture design in 1946. The same year, she established

She has worked in various materials such as fiberglass, wickerwork and foam rubber and in various trades such as cabinetmaking, jewellery, tableware, applied art and textiles. In the 50's Ditzel experimented with split-level floor seating. From 1968 to '86 she lived in London, establishing the international furniture house Interspace in Hampstead with Kurt Heide. SONAR was designed by Nanna Ditzel in 2000. The unique cone shape stabilizes and strengthens the transition from seat to back. The shape endows this light stacking chair with strength and seating comfort. SONAR is available with and without upholstery.

ICON LOUNGE

TRINIDAD was designed in 1993, inspired by the fretwork from the island of that name. The chair is available in maple, cherry and beech and is stackable without armrests. The seat and back interact gracefully with the light.

The easy chair ICON and the matching coffee table MIRROR were designed in 2002. The light and flexible back of the easy chair adapts comfortably to the sitting body. Up to 5 ICON easy chairs can be placed around the floating glass top of the coffee table. The chair is delivered with stainless steel frame.

The Bench won a Japanese design competition
almost immediately.
Design by : Nanna Ditzel Nanna Ditzel has exhibited internationally at One Woman exhibitions in Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, Vienna, London, Stockholm, Milan, Glasgow, Manchester, Reykjavik and Denmark.
Ditzel has been awarded numerous international prizes, including, in 1990, the Gold Medal in the International Furniture Design Competition, Japan, for her Bench for Two. She was elected Honorable Royal Designer in London in 1996 and awarded the lifelong Artists' Grant by the Danish Ministry of Culture in 1998.

TRINIDAD BARSTOOL was designed in 1998 and represents a refinement of the TRINIDAD chair design.

TUBA was designed in 1996 and is shaped like a throne. Ideal for long meetings and good meals. The ends of the TOBAGO conference table provide the chairperson with the best possible workspace. TUBA and TOBAGO are made of beech, cherry and maple.Design by : Nanna DitzelDesign by : Nanna Ditzel

Design by : Nanna Ditzel Design by : Nanna Ditzel TEMBA is a light stacking chair, either with or without armrests. TEMBA was designed in 1997 and is produced in maple, cherry and beech. The seat and back grip the frame with a precision which makes the construction strong and light. TEMBA takes its inspiration from the resilience and elegance of a mussel shell.
