Petersen + Verwers Architecture was formed in San Francisco in 1996 by Mette Krebs Petersen, a Danish textile designer, and Todd Blake Verwers MAA, an American architect trained in Denmark. Elevation Salon + Café, San Francisco
This unique, street-level hair salon is located in San Francisco’s financial district. The design features a cylindrical café Component serving as the focal point for the salon experience. The client desired a maximum number of styling and color treatment stations, while creating an atmosphere of openness, elegance, and sophistication. Recognizing the inherent beauty of the existing structure, the simple plan and minimal articulation of the design provides a calm, crisp, and decidedly modern environment, as well as profound sense of “elevation”.
